Avocados in a pile.

Avocado Oil is rich in Vitamin A, B1, B2, B5, D, and E as well as amino acids and essential fatty acids. It also contains anti-oxidants. This oil is a great moisturizer.

Carafe with olive oil in it.

Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced only by mechanical extraction (no hot water or chemicals applied to extract the oil from the olives). This oil is high in Oleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid that contributes to the conditioning/moisturizing abilities of a soap. Olive oil will absorb into the skin and form a protective barrier against the elements. It also acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin.

Coconut split in two showing the white meat inside.

Coconut Oil is known for its fantastic cleansing abilities and amazing lather and is a must in soapmaking. It makes for a very hard bar of soap. The oil is cold pressed from the fruit meat of coconut palm seeds.

Almonds in a white bowl.

Sweet Almond oil produces a rich conditioning lather when used in soapmaking. High in Vitamins A, D and E as well as Oleic and Linoleic fatty acids, this oil is perfect for re-hydrating dry, flaky and irritated skin.

Castor oil in a see-through glass beaker.

Castor oil is obtained from pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant. This oil is a natural emollient that softens and hydrates skin.

PigLard is rendered pork fat. It contains high amounts of oleic acid and is a great moisturizer that doesn't clog pores. Adding lard to a recipe greatly increases bar hardness and adds a wonderfully creamy lather. Lard is a substitute for palm oil, and has many of the same properties. We don't use palm oil in our soaps because high demand for palm oil has led to massive rain forest deforestation and re-planting of palm plantations for profit, mainly in Indonesia and Maylasia. Lard is sustainable and is only a by-product in the meat industry. And for those who are wondering....Soaps containing lard last just as long as vegan soaps. Your ancestors knew what they were doing. Don't knock it 'til you try it!

Three cocoa fruits of the cocoa plant sitting on top of cocoa beans.

Cocoa Butter is edible vegetable fat extracted from the cocoa bean. The butter is a fantastic moisturizer and contains natural antioxidants. Adding cocoa butter to a soap recipe will produce a hard bar and stable lather.

Mangos hanging from a tree.

Mango Butter is extracted from the fruit kernels of the mango tree. This butter contains antioxidant properties. It also has skin softening and moisturizing properties, which are said to be effective for dry and damaged skin.

Shea Butter is extracted from the nuts of the African Shea Tree. It is a rich and effective moisturizer that feeds and softens skin. This butter is high in skin nourishing antioxidants.

Orange, green, purple, and pink piles of pigment powders.

                                                      Pigment Powders

Pigment Powders, such as Ultramarines and Matte Oxides, are nature identical powders. This means they are made in a laboratory using the same ingredients found in nature, but are even purer than nature-made pigments, which can have harmful minerals intermixed in them.
